Thermally modified quarter sawn curly red oak wooden serving tray with handles

  
Handmade thermally modified quarter sawn curly red oak serving platter. This can be used as a serving tray, laptop tray or a tray for a meal on your lap.

The wood is naturally dark from the thermal modification not from stain. This piece is fracture burnt with a mix of black, silver and white mica powders mixed into the epoxy resin. 3D affects are amazing but hard to capture in a photograph.

The various mica powders also makes the epoxy glisten in the sunlight. There are several areas with deep 3D affects especially on the sides of the tray. This piece is approximately 27 3/4 inches across.

Clear plastic stoppers are on the back to keep it steady on the table and allow you to hang this on the wall as art as well. Item was handcrafted by Brandon Oren, Kitchens by Creative Woodworking Inc.
