For sale is a very large and very nice american quartersawn oak sideboard or buffet. I think the maker is tyler out of st.
I listed horner as the maker in the title but it is not horner. Just put horner in as a draw.At any rate, this is a great piece, all original, including hardware and key with original finish with great patina. I paid over 4000 for it like 15 years ago and have it sitting in a side parlor off the main entrance of my house. I have put a bedroom in the room it was in, getting too old or too lazy to climb the steps upstairs. I have moved out a number of pieces from that room that i will be listing in the next few days if i get around to it. It is large, standing 92.25 inches tall without casters, with casters inserted it would be about 94 inches.
It is 60.75 inches wide, and 24.50 inches deep. It has three original beveled mirrors across the top and one large original beveled mirror across the next piece down before the top of the sideboard. This second section is supported by nice turned and carved columns or pedestals with a shelve above them with dentate molding and carving adding to the structure and beauty of it. The top section is supported by carved griffins holding up the top shelf which is topped off with a nicely carved crown board. It has three drawers under the top part of the cabinet, with three nicely carved doors under each of the three drawers, under which are two other drawers. It has a ton of storage and many surfaces to display porcelain, pictures, lamps, or whatever you choose to sit on it. I had it covered everywhere and since i have moved it out, i need to decide what to do with all of it. There is no damage or repairs to the piece to my knowledge and is as solid and sturdy as the day it was built.
The pictures are quite terrible as usual but i assure you it is a very wonderful sideboard in great shape with a wonderful finish.
