I'm located in Northern Indiana, directly in the heart of the Central Hardwood Forest, known for its great diversity of hardwood trees (188 native and introduced species). My business is obtaining logs from unwanted trees; yard trees, highway projects, storm damage, etc. And producing high-grade kiln-dried hardwood and softwood lumber. Mine is a home-based business utilizing a Wood-Mizer portable bandsaw mill and three solar-powered drying kilns.
I'll soon be starting my 16. Year in the lumber business and have built a very large inventory of a good variety of species in a variety of thicknesses. This will take a bit of time, so if you are looking for something not yet listed contact me and I'll get it listed right away. Almost every woodworker is familiar with white oak. It has a distinctive heavy grain pattern and is a medium-hard wood. It is the most valuable of the oaks and has long been associated with mission style furniture. It is a bit harder than red oak and, of course, lighter in color. The quarter-sawn ray figure is unmistakable and a mainstay for mission style furniture. Quarter-sawn lumber is also more dimensionally stable than flatsawn. Please note that the photos are representative and are most likely not the materail you will receive. One series of four shows 100 bd. One eBayer noted that the material he got was much better than that shown in the photos and that my photos didn't do the material justice. Widths: Primarily 5 - 9.Kiln dried to 6%, now in unheated/non-dehumidified storage and will be somewhat higher. This lot is priced at my normal, "less than retail" price, less 10% for 100 bd.
The material is guaranteed to be the advertised grade and no sorting will be permitted. Sorting for specific widths, grain pattern, color, etc. May result in additional charges.
They were happy that it turned out to be better than anticipated. My stock is ever changing and I just added a close-up photo showing what you might expect. Not every board will have the dramatic ray figure, but many will. Join my group of happy customers!I've used it and it's very reasonable and dependable. Please note that the commercial location can be your or a friend's workplace or some business that you have connections with. Today these costs have doubled or more.
